Product Description
The fischer DDF Dot and Dab Fixing is, as per the name, specially designed for fixing items onto dot and dab walls. Dot and dab walls are masonry walls with plasterboard secured on top, meaning there is gap between the two. The DDF Dot and Dab Fixing has been created to bridge this gap and secure into the masonry, providing up to 90kg of support per fixing*. Therefore the DDF Dot and Dab Fixing is suitable for securing heavier loads such as radiators and kitchen cabinets.
fischer DDF Dot and Dab Fixing Specification
- The grey nylon element of the plug is long enough to expand and distribute the load evenly into the masonry.
- A 2 component glass fibre core prevents bending under high stress.
- The red element of the plug is fibreglass reinforced to powerfully bridge the gap behind the plasterboard.
- Long lateral wings splay out in the substrate and ensure no plasterboard deviation.
- Ribs on the plug prevent it from turning.
- The safety screw is custom made to fit the plug and has a hexagon head with integrated washer.
- Plug size 10 x 100mm, hexagon head screw 6 x 107mm.
Functioning
- Easy and quick 2 step installation; simply insert the plug and fasten the screw!
- *90kg of support per DDF Dot and Dab Fixing based on a 22.5mm offset (the distance from the top edge of the plasterboard to the top edge of the masonry e.g. 12.5mm plasterboard followed by 10mm gap).
- Achieve safe loads even with a 45mm offset (this is the maximum recommended distance e.g. two layers of 12.5mm plasterboard then a 20mm gap).
- Suitable for mounting attachments up to 10mm thick.
- Shallow anchorage depth of only 55mm.
